In my experience, I've found that, although my Missouri eighth grade students are naturally curious and eager to learn about the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, many don't fully appreciate the magnitude of the loss of those iconic towers and the lives they contained. After all, they weren't even born in 2001.
